The shadow is…

“The shadow is a moral problem that challenges the whole ego-personality, for no one can become conscious of the shadow without considerable moral effort. To become conscious of it involves recognizing the dark aspects of the personality as present and real. This act is the essential condition for any kind of self-knowledge, and it therefore, as a rule, meets with considerable resistance. ” — C.G. Jung

  1. I think it is the hardest thing to look at my dark side. I want to be perfect. But wanting to be perfect leads to denial and self-delusion. I resist by not remembering my dreams. It is in dreams that the shadow really can come to light. No dream, no looking at my dark (or is it evil) side. Another chance to hide. My whole ego personality has got to get smaller. I may have unconscious evil lurking there but I am really not a monster.
